Is anyone going to the French Festival this Saturday to celebrate Bastille Day?
You can learn to cook some french fancies, listen to some french language jazz or watch some Can Can dancing or even a Burlesque show.
You will need to look the part, so here are some pieces to get you started!

The Purple Bedroom is celebrating its first birthday this week and as part of a huge thank you to all of my wonderful, loyal clients, from Tuesday 13th July until COB Saturday 17th July, the store will be offering a 10% discount on all items to mailing list clients that mention this post.
*Purchases made with this offer can’t be used in conjuntion with loyalty card discounts.
Also there will be new store hours for the rest of winter, Tuesday to Thursday.
The store will now open at 12pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as opposed to 11am. All other opening hours will remain the same.

Well sure, I think we all agree that the movie was better left having never been made, having said that, there is still some yummy fashion to enjoy!
Perhaps your take on Carries’ turbans, kaftans or bow tie suit, or the paisley prints that Miranda seems to be enjoying throughout?
Or how about Samanthas’ usual favorite all over bling or Charlotte and her prim peplum dresses, everyone can happily touch on some form of fashion from the movie.
Now if only the films were as good as the TV series……….

A lovely client of The Purple Bedroom, Katie, recently got married in a pair of blue sequin shoes that she purchased from the store.
She was kind enough to invite me to the wedding(presumably to see the shoes in action) but sadly I couldn’t make it. However she sent me a pic of said shoes in action. Katie looked amazing and I am happy to report that the shoes were a hit!
If we have any ‘bride to be’ ladies out there, here are a few wedding dresses on offer.

There was a lovely post on Queens of Vintage a couple of days ago regarding the lost art of wearing beautiful nightwear.
Most of us are concerned with comfort, not beauty when it comes to sleeping attire. I myself was guilty of this until a few years ago when I found one of my mums gorgeous full length vintage nighties with a divine floral print on the bust. Whenever I slip it on I instantly feel glamorous and now I hope you can too with these little babies!
